Un B-day Mix

I just finished making myself un b-day mix. I really enjoy making little mixes with funny titles. I try to put my favorite songs to share with friends. Sometimes I get a bit carried away and I make part 1 of part 2 mixes and put notes in them and create short stories so the person who receives it can have something to read before they put it on. I think music is a big part of everyone's life. It can be like a soundtrack to someone's day. Even when you go for a walk or just trying to figure things out and you put on that favorite album to accompany you for those couple of hours.

Un Poema...

I was just thinking that I should share one of my new poems that I wrote this summer. I just luv the way that I wrote it. I actually went for a walk on a Friday morning and I was trying to organize my thoughts. For some reason these ideas started flowing about a girl listening to sad records and her heart spinning like a ferris wheel. I was completely blown away with this and that's how this poema got made.

Grey Skies Make Me Blue

The alarm goes off,
it's another morning,
I don't want to go out,
and face you...

These grey skies make me blue,
it was gloomy outside,
all I wanted was to stay inside,
stay inside,
lying in bed,
listening to sad songs,
about unreal luv,
unreal luv,

like you and I,
like you and I,

Let me bury my head,
under the pillows,
so,
I won't think no more,
of a you and I,
of a you and I,

Mis pensamientos kept spinnig,
like a ferris wheel,

I had to get out,
went for a walk,
and realized that,
these grey skies make me blue...

Couldn't get away,
of these love sick thoughts,

Were not even close to being in love,
these grey skies are making me blue,
blue.

Decided To Write Today...

I haven't been writing on this blog for two months. When I decided to come back I had forgotten my password. It happens to the best of us. I even tried looking for the mini-notebook in which I had written the information in but couldn't find it. It's cool. I was able to make another one. And now, I'm back writing un blog. Were should I start...the one main thing is that "Tiragomas" had a sweet time at the Arts and Craft Market" in August. I was ablet to sell three shirts and also made one boy happy with one of my unique shirt's that I named "My boyfriend's" t-shirt. I only customized it with my "Boom Boom Boombox." I don't think I will ever find a shirt with that cool pattern ever again. To be quite honest, I wasn't going to take the shirt that evening, because I looooooved it way tooooo much. I guess it was destined for me to take it that evening and to make someone else happy with it. I also made these really cool pins and magnets that I called "Luv Albert" it is a whale (una ballenita). The name was inspired, by Albert Hammond Jr. I was listening to his album "Como Te LLama?" when I was creating my pins, magnets, and mi "boom boom boombox." They are all differerent. I also read mis poemas under the stars in Long Beach. It was perfect.

Making Pretty Things

I've been making my krafty projects by sewing everything by hand. It takes a little longer, but everytime I'm inspired to sew, sew, sew I always play a song that touches that projects uniqueness. In the last "Arts and Crafts Market" I was sooooo uninspired to silkscreen my shirts even though I knew the show was one week away. I always leave everything until the last minute. But I think the ideas flow much quicker and things get done because they have toooo... That time around things weren't happining at all. The good thing I went to the store and they had on sale the album by Radiohead "In Rainbows." I decided to give it a chance. I put the cd on the moment I got home and that was it. I was totally blown away and the song that lead the path for the inspiration was "Weird Fishes" believe me when I say that song got played out that whole night when we were silkscreening and sewing.. That is why we called it the "Greenwood Series" because of Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead.

Arts and Crafts Market

Hi Everyone,

This is the first blog for "Tiragomas" you might be wondering what the name means, but it is the Spanish word for Slingshot. In the beginning of this year my brother and I were looking for names to call our kraft project. We wanted to join forces and make fun things under one name, but at the same time we had to call ourselves something because we were going to be part of our first "Arts and Crafts Market" show together and they needed a name to put on the flyer. Yes, we were crutching on time so we were looking in the Spanish dictionary. I have to admit we were desperate, but it was perfect. I think that "Tiragomas" is a great metaphor for ideas that are thrown in different angles not knowing how far they are going to go. Everyone is welcome to be part of this ride of ideas and projects. Our second, "Arts and Crafts Market" show is going to be next Saturday, so if you live in the LA area and you want to spend a fun afternoon in Long Beach just come on down...
